The Strategic Exposure Study.

A clear picture of your exposure. A plan to protect what matters.

The Strategic Exposure Study is how every engagement with Frederick Dean begins. It is a focused, private review of your life’s operational landscape—how you live, move, communicate, and delegate—and where that creates risk.

This is not a basic security audit. It is a comprehensive study that looks across your properties, technology, travel, household, reputation, and daily operations. We connect the dots that others overlook.

The goal is simple: give you and your advisors a complete understanding of where you are exposed, and what needs to change to protect your life without disrupting it.

What It Covers

The Study goes beyond physical security. We look across five key areas where exposure often builds quietly:

  • Your Homes and Properties - We assess how physical spaces are accessed, managed, and staffed. That includes security systems, daily schedules, vehicles, and privacy risks.

  • Your Digital Life - We review how you and your family use devices, platforms, and communication tools. This includes privacy settings, password habits, digital hygiene, and online visibility.

  • Your Reputation and Public Profile - We assess public exposure through media, online content, and affiliations. We look at how easily information about you can be found, and what it could be used for.

  • The People Around You - This includes household staff, vendors, contractors, drivers, advisors, and assistants. We look at who has access, how they’re vetted, how information flows, and what happens if someone leaves.

  • Your Daily Life and Operational Rhythms - From travel and logistics to family routines and transitions, we analyze how your life runs and where breakdowns or blind spots might emerge.

How It Works

The process is discreet, efficient, and designed to respect your time.

  1. Private Intake Conversation - We speak directly with the client, or with their advisor, to understand the situation and concerns.

  2. System Review - We examine key environments and systems—both firsthand and through documentation—to understand the operational picture.

  3. Stakeholder Input - When needed, we interview select staff or vendors to understand how they function and where they may be overextended or under-managed.

  4. Risk Mapping - We identify where vulnerabilities exist, how risks could compound, and where current processes fall short.

  5. Delivery of Findings - We deliver a written exposure map with clear, prioritized recommendations. We walk you through it in a private briefing, and we stay available to clarify or support as needed.

What You Receive

You walk away with a document you can actually use:

  • A plain-language exposure map showing where you are at risk

  • Clear recommendations for hardening your systems and improving continuity

  • Insights you can share with your family, household team, or trusted advisors

  • Optional next steps for working with us through Advisory, Embedded, or Ad Hoc support

Some clients take the Study and act on it themselves. Others use it as the starting point for deeper partnership. Either way, it gives you clarity you didn’t have before.

When It’s Most Valuable

This Study is useful at any stage—but it’s especially powerful at times of change or concern:

  • Before or after a liquidity event

  • When moving, renovating, or purchasing a new home

  • During staff turnover or vendor transitions

  • When planning a high-profile event or public appearance

  • If there has been a breach, conflict, or uncomfortable incident

  • Or when things just feel too complex or too fragile

Why It Matters

Most people don’t realize how exposed they are until something goes wrong. The Strategic Exposure Study gives you the truth upfront—quietly, thoroughly, and without drama.

It creates a starting point for smarter decisions, tighter systems, and stronger continuity across your life.
